Nike SB Shoe Dunk Low (NOTE) brings a deeper kind of storytelling into a silhouette that’s already cemented in skate history. At first glance, the shoe lands with a clean, cohesive look—rich Flax suede wrapping the entire upper, giving it that warm, worn-in tone that feels familiar right away. The texture is soft but durable, designed to break in naturally over time, picking up character with every session. Subtle contrast stitching and paneling keep the classic Dunk DNA intact, while the Summit White/Sail midsole balances everything out underneath with a slightly vintage feel.
Then the details start to show themselves. The lace set stands out immediately, featuring a biscuit-inspired pattern that plays into the theme without being loud. Underneath, the padded tongue and interior lining carry a full custom printed graphic, referencing textures and visuals tied to the concept—something you only really notice once you’re lacing them up. The heel tabs are stamped with NOTE branding, done in a clean, tonal finish that doesn’t fight the rest of the shoe but adds to the story.
The Swoosh is where things really shift. This pair features detachable Swooshes, letting you swap between different textures and looks—each one inspired by classic UK biscuits. One leans toward a textured brown finish, while another option taps into a more playful, patterned feel. It’s one of those details that’s easy to overlook at first but becomes the centerpiece once you realize you can customize the entire vibe of the shoe.
Inside, the storytelling keeps going. The inner tongue features a “strength of brew” chart, a small but thoughtful detail that ties back to the tea culture inspiration. The sockliner continues with biscuit-themed graphics, and even underfoot, the outsole carries a faint tea stain ring effect, like a cup left sitting too long—subtle, but intentional.
Performance-wise, it’s everything you expect from a Nike SB Dunk Low Pro. The cupsole construction gives you that stable, responsive boardfeel, while the foam midsole absorbs impact without losing connection to your board. The outsole sticks with the proven pivot circle traction pattern, keeping grip consistent whether you’re skating ledges, banks, or just pushing through the streets.
This collaboration ties back to NOTE Skateshop out of Manchester, a shop that’s been holding it down since 1999. Built as more than just a retail space, NOTE has always been a place for skaters to hang, watch videos, and stay connected—something that feels familiar if you’ve spent any time around real shops. Their partnership with Nike SB doesn’t feel forced—it reflects that same community-driven approach, just translated into a shoe.
Around the SGV, this pair fits right in without trying too hard. Whether you’re skating through Pasadena streets, cutting through Alhambra, or just posted up outside the shop in Monrovia, it’s the kind of shoe that looks better the more it’s worn. Clean, but never too precious.
