The Zero Deck Jon Allie Headcase Gold Foil (8.25) brings back one of Zero Skateboards' classic pro model graphics as part of the company's 30th anniversary celebration, commemorating three decades of skateboarding history from 1996 to 2026. This special reissue honors legendary Zero team rider Jon Allie and the era of aggressive, technical street skating that helped define the brand during the early 2000s. Featuring the original Headcase skeleton artwork reimagined with a metallic gold foil finish against a deep black background, the deck combines Zero's dark, unmistakable visual identity with modern Resin-7 construction and a versatile 8.25-inch shape.

The bottom graphic features a striking anatomical skeleton illustration extending nearly the entire length of the deck. At the nose, a large gold skull tilts sideways with its jaw slightly open, exposing detailed teeth, deep eye sockets, and heavily shaded facial bones. A skeletal hand reaches around the side of its head, while sections of the arms extend outward from the upper body. Below, an intricately illustrated rib cage fills the center of the board, with individual ribs, vertebrae, and bone structures highlighted by gold tones against the black background. The metallic finish gives the artwork a dramatic contrast, emphasizing the detailed linework and vintage anatomical illustration style. Across the lower rib cage, a bold rectangular nameplate reads "ALLIE ZERO," with "ALLIE" printed in distressed white lettering and "ZERO" in burnt orange. Beneath the nameplate, the pelvis and upper leg bones continue toward the tail, completing the full-body skeleton illustration. A thin gold outline follows the deck's perimeter, tying the entire graphic together without distracting from the artwork.

Built for technical street skating and everyday performance, the Jon Allie Headcase Gold Foil measures 8.25 inches wide by 31.9 inches long, with a 14.25-inch wheelbase, 7-inch nose, and 6.5-inch tail. Its traditional popsicle shape and medium concave offer a balanced combination of board control, stability, and responsiveness. The 8.25-inch width provides enough platform for confident landings and rail skating while remaining manageable for technical flip tricks, ledge combinations, and quick transitions between obstacles. Constructed from seven plies of North American maple using Resin-7 epoxy technology, the deck is individually pressed to maintain consistent strength, pop, and concave. A laser-engraved top veneer adds a finishing detail, while assorted top wood stain colors vary from deck to deck.

The reissue pays tribute to Jon Allie, one of the most influential technical handrail skateboarders of the early 2000s and an important part of Zero's original powerhouse roster. Born in West Bend, Wisconsin, Allie developed his skating in the Midwest, drawing inspiration from the aggressive street skating of the 1990s, particularly Toy Machine's groundbreaking 1996 video Welcome to Hell. Determined to make a name for himself, he filmed a sponsor-me tape and personally delivered it to Zero founder Jamie Thomas. His ability to combine technical tricks with an unusually powerful approach to large street obstacles eventually earned him a place on the Zero team.

Allie's skating helped push technical handrail progression into new territory. At a time when simply grinding a massive rail was considered a major accomplishment, he was combining flip tricks, switch approaches, and difficult grind variations on obstacles that most skateboarders wouldn't attempt. His command of kickflip frontside tailslides, 180 switch crooked grinds, and other advanced combinations made him a standout among an already legendary Zero roster. Rather than relying solely on the size of an obstacle, Allie brought precision, speed, and natural style to tricks that demanded an extraordinary level of commitment.

His breakthrough appearance in Zero's Dying to Live (2002) remains one of the defining video parts of that era, establishing him as a major force in technical street skating. He followed it with another memorable performance in New Blood (2005), further cementing his reputation for taking complicated tricks to increasingly intimidating terrain. His career also included footage in C1RCA's It's Time and $lave Skateboards' Radio Television. After years with Zero, Allie eventually transitioned to $lave Skateboards, where he continued exploring his own approach to street skating while maintaining the independent attitude that characterized his earlier work.

Zero Skateboards was founded in 1996 by professional skateboarder Jamie Thomas, widely known throughout the industry as "The Chief." Beginning as an apparel company before establishing itself as one of skateboarding's most influential board brands, Zero became synonymous with heavy handrails, massive gaps, dark artwork, and an uncompromising dedication to street skateboarding. Through influential videos including Thrill of It All, Misled Youth, Dying to Live, and New Blood, Zero introduced some of the most recognizable skateboarders and memorable video parts in the history of the sport. Riders such as Jon Allie helped establish the company's reputation during a period when full-length skate videos and signature pro model decks were central to skateboarding culture.

The 30th anniversary Headcase reissue celebrates that history by bringing an original Jon Allie graphic back to a new generation of skateboarders. For longtime Zero supporters, the skeleton artwork recalls an era when skateboard graphics were closely associated with the riders and video parts that made them famous. For younger skateboarders, it offers an opportunity to ride a piece of that history without sacrificing contemporary deck construction. The gold foil treatment adds a commemorative finish, making the board equally appealing as an everyday street setup or an addition to a collection of classic Zero graphics.

For skateboarders throughout the San Gabriel Valley, the Jon Allie Headcase Gold Foil offers a familiar 8.25-inch setup suited to the ledges, stairs, and skatepark terrain found throughout Pasadena, Arcadia, Monrovia, Glendora, and neighboring communities. Its balanced dimensions make it an especially practical choice for skaters who appreciate traditional popsicle shapes and the technical street skating that Allie helped advance. At STIX SGV, the connection runs deeper than the artwork. Zero's rise during the late 1990s and early 2000s coincided with the formative years of our Monrovia shop, making these anniversary reissues a reminder of the skateboard videos, companies, and riders that shaped that era.
