The Thunder Trucks 148 Team T-2 Inverted Polished (Sold In Pair) brings together Thunder's signature quick-turn response, lightweight construction, and an innovative inverted kingpin system designed to improve grind clearance without sacrificing strength or control. Featuring a clean, raw polished silver finish, these trucks combine a smooth, sculpted aluminum hanger with a reinforced cast aluminum baseplate and distinctive translucent purple bushings. The 148 size features an 8.25-inch axle width, making it ideal for skateboard decks measuring approximately 8.12" to 8.38" wide. Built for technical street skating, ledges, rails, and everyday sessions, the T-2 Inverted Edition delivers the familiar Thunder feel with additional clearance where it matters most.
The standout feature is Thunder's inverted kingpin design, which provides 45% more kingpin clearance compared to standard Team Editions. Its exclusive low-profile kingpin head eliminates exposed sharp edges that can catch during grinds, helping skaters lock into obstacles with fewer hang-ups. The solid axle and premium inverted kingpin construction maintain durability while keeping unnecessary weight down. Adjustments are made using a 5.5mm or 7/32" Allen key, including the compatible Spitfire T3 tool, allowing skaters to fine-tune their turning response.
Thunder has also refined the baseplate geometry for smoother nose and tail slides, rounding the corners and pivot housing to reduce interference with ledges and obstacles. Reinforced kingpin and pivot wall housings provide additional structural strength and improved longevity. The 90-durometer clear purple bushings work alongside 100-durometer pivot cups for a responsive feel and quicker break-in. Combined with Thunder's proven Team Edition geometry, the result is a truck that turns quickly, holds its line, and provides dependable board control.
Thunder Trucks has deep roots in skateboarding history, originally developed by industry figures Terry Nails, Fausto Vitello, and Eric Swenson. The brand became part of San Francisco's influential Deluxe Distribution family, alongside respected skateboard brands such as Real, Antihero, Krooked, and Spitfire Wheels. Thunder has earned its reputation through decades of rider-driven development, emphasizing responsive geometry, durability, and performance over unnecessary gimmicks. The T-2 Inverted Edition continues that tradition with practical improvements aimed directly at the demands of modern skateboarding.
For skaters throughout the San Gabriel Valley, from the ledges and street spots around Pasadena and Arcadia to the skateparks in Monrovia, Azusa, and Claremont, the Thunder 148 Team T-2 Inverted Polished offers a versatile setup for an 8.25" deck. Whether you're upgrading an existing board or putting together a new complete, the combination of increased grind clearance, responsive turning, and durable construction makes these trucks a solid choice for everyday skating. Sold as a pair of two trucks, ready to complete your setup.
