Stix SGV Hat New Hauk Snake Dad Strapback (Washed Black/Red/Bone) takes the raw energy of classic tattoo culture and filters it directly into a clean everyday skate-shop staple. This version flips the embroidery into a sharp bone-colored snake graphic and STIX lettering, standing out hard against the washed black crown while pairing perfectly with the faded red brim. The contrast gives the hat an older, naturally worn look right away — like something that’s already survived years of sessions, road trips, and being tossed into the backseat after skating all day.

The centerpiece artwork was created by longtime friend of the shop and respected tattoo artist Jeanine Hauk, also known as Lady Hauk. Raised in Monrovia, Hauk has built a reputation throughout Los Angeles tattoo culture for her highly detailed American Traditional work, custom typography, and unmistakable hand style. Her background in graphic design shows heavily in this piece, especially in the way the snake wraps naturally into the custom STIX lettering without feeling forced or overly polished. The embroidery has that authentic tattoo-flash energy — aggressive, clean, and timeless without trying too hard.

The washed black and faded red combination feels especially right for Southern California skateboarding. The pigment-dyed cotton twill gives the hat a naturally sun-faded appearance, almost like it’s been worn through years of parking lot sessions, curb spots, and late-night missions around the SGV. The pre-curved red visor adds contrast without becoming loud, while the bone embroidery keeps the front hit crisp and highly visible from a distance.

Built on a classic 6-panel low-profile dad hat silhouette, the fit stays relaxed and broken-in from the first wear. The unstructured soft crown molds naturally to your head over time, making it the kind of cap that works just as well skating through Pasadena, grabbing food in Alhambra, or hanging outside the shop in Covina after a long day. Lightweight construction and soft washed cotton make it easy to wear daily without stiffness or bulk.

Features include:

  • 100% washed cotton twill
  • Garment-washed pigment dyed fabric
  • Low-profile unstructured fit
  • 6 sewn eyelets
  • Pre-curved visor
  • Antique brass metal press buckle closure
  • Standard cotton twill sweatband
  • Soft broken-in texture from day one

Jeanine Hauk’s career bridges fine illustration, typography, and tattooing in a way that naturally connects with skateboarding culture. After studying graphic design at California College of the Arts in San Francisco, she apprenticed under Kayle Leogrande at Classic Tattoo in Upland before becoming known for highly detailed lettering, pinups, sigils, and traditional imagery throughout Los Angeles. Her current work at Strangelove LA continues that same sharp visual identity, and this collaboration reflects the exact balance between skateboarding, local culture, and independent artistry that has always felt authentic to STIX.
