Stix SGV Beanie Francis Pigeons Patch Cuff (Dark Grey) takes Todd Francis’ unmistakable street-level artwork and pairs it with a darker, understated colorway that feels naturally tied to skateboarding’s everyday uniform. The charcoal-toned knit body gives the beanie a worn, utilitarian look — something that feels equally at home during cold morning push missions through Pasadena, late-night parking lot sessions in Alhambra, or quick shop stops before heading out toward the Inland Empire.
The centerpiece of the beanie is the custom black-and-white woven patch featuring Todd Francis’ exclusive artwork created for Stix SGV. The illustration showcases pigeons perched around an overturned trash can alongside scattered urban debris and bold STIX lettering, all rendered in Francis’ gritty hand-drawn style. It’s the kind of artwork that reflects the actual environments skateboarders spend time in — overlooked corners, rough sidewalks, alleyways, schoolyards, industrial blocks, and DIY spots hidden throughout the SGV rather than polished fantasy versions of skateboarding.
Todd Francis has remained one of the most important visual voices in skateboarding for decades, best known for shaping the visual identity of Antihero Skateboards alongside Julien Stranger and creating the legendary Antihero eagle logo. Raised in Los Angeles and deeply connected to skateboarding’s rawer side, Francis built a reputation for combining humor, social commentary, political satire, and incredibly detailed illustrations into graphics that feel honest to skate culture. His artwork has appeared across Antihero, Vans, Spitfire, HUF, Oakley, Element, Stance, and numerous gallery exhibitions, while always maintaining an anti-corporate edge that resonates with real skateboarders.
The pigeon imagery used throughout this collaboration holds deeper meaning within Francis’ body of work. Pigeons survive in hostile city environments the same way skateboarders adapt to rough terrain, changing cities, security guards, busted spots, and endless urban obstacles. That survivalist energy fits perfectly with the SGV landscape where generations of skaters have built scenes in overlooked places stretching from Baldwin Park and El Monte to Monrovia and Covina.
The beanie itself is built with a loosely knit ribbed cuff construction that delivers warmth without becoming stiff or bulky. Made from 100% hypoallergenic acrylic, the material stays lightweight, soft, and durable enough for daily wear whether you’re skating in colder weather or simply keeping it in the rotation year-round. The cuff folds cleanly while the approximate 10-inch uncuffed length gives the beanie a balanced fit that works worn snug or slightly relaxed. The dark grey marled knit adds texture and depth to the piece while helping the black-bordered patch stand out cleanly against the body.
Inspired by classic knit styles that have remained part of skateboarding since the 1970s, the Stix SGV Beanie Francis Pigeons Patch Cuff (Dark Grey) avoids feeling overproduced or trendy. Instead, it feels like the kind of staple piece that naturally becomes part of everyday skate life — functional, durable, understated, and tied directly to skateboarding’s real culture.
