The Slushcult BLVD Bench brings a legendary piece of Southern California skateboarding history into the world of fingerboarding. Inspired by the famous curved bench taken from an office complex in Santa Ana, California, during the late 1990s, this miniature obstacle recreates the distinctive shape and construction of a recognizable street skating spot. The bench features three long, parallel steel slats arranged in a smooth, sweeping curve, finished in a deep forest green powder coating. Narrow gaps separate each slat, creating multiple edges and surfaces for technical fingerboard tricks, while the exposed black steel framework underneath gives it the appearance of a full-sized public bench.
Measuring 10 inches long, 2 inches wide, and 2 inches high, the BLVD Bench provides an extended curved surface for practicing grinds, slides, and creative trick combinations. Its gradual arc makes it especially interesting for learning to follow a curved grinding surface rather than a conventional straight ledge. Constructed from thick-diameter steel, the bench is designed for durability and repeated sessions, with wide rectangular support feet that help reduce wobbling during use. The smooth powder-coated finish adds protection while maintaining a realistic look. Made in the USA, this is a purpose-built fingerboard obstacle designed to capture the experience of skating actual street furniture.
Slushcult was founded by Clayton McCarthy, also known as Slushgod, who built the brand around his appreciation for skateboarding, 1990s nostalgia, and independent creative culture. What began as a streetwear project eventually developed into a recognized fingerboarding brand, with the Slushcult Mini Mart in Santa Ana becoming a gathering place for fingerboarders. The BLVD Bench reflects those Southern California roots, turning a piece of local skate history into a functional miniature obstacle.
For fingerboarders putting together a realistic street plaza or expanding an existing setup, the Slushcult BLVD Bench offers something different from traditional rails and ledges. Its curved design encourages experimentation with new lines and trick combinations, whether you're practicing at home or bringing your setup to a session with friends. With its Santa Ana origins, the bench also carries a connection to the broader Southern California skate scene, including the communities around Pasadena, Arcadia, Glendora, and the rest of the San Gabriel Valley.
Stix SGV has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley skateboarding community since the late ‘90s. With three locations across Los Angeles County, we’ve been deeply rooted in the local scene. Our Monrovia shop has been a staple since 1997, followed by our Claremont location in 2014, and our South Pasadena shop opening its doors in 2022. Our mission has always been simple: to uphold skateboarding culture and stay true to our community.
