That philosophy makes Ryan Lay a natural fit. Originally from Arizona, Lay has built one of the most unique careers in professional skateboarding. While many skaters chase the traditional sponsorship ladder, Lay's path has been marked by artistic exploration, personal reinvention, community involvement, and a deep commitment to skateboarding culture. Known for his highly technical nollie and switch skating, creative spot selection, and intelligent approach to street skating, he earned widespread respect through years of standout video parts and consistent progression.
After stepping away from a promising early career to pursue art studies in San Francisco, Lay eventually found renewed inspiration through projects that reflected his values both on and off the board. His professional career includes memorable contributions to brands such as Welcome Skateboards before eventually joining Sci-Fi Fantasy under Jerry Hsu.
