Powell Peralta Tailbone 8" (White) is a true piece of skateboarding history, rooted in late-’70s innovation and still just as relevant on modern setups. Molded in a clean, classic white finish, this tailbone features the original curved 8" shape designed to protect the tail while adding controlled slide and durability to the back of your board. The smooth surface and rounded edges are engineered to take repeated impacts, keeping your tail crisp longer whether you’re learning curb tricks, blasting parking blocks, or working crusty street spots.
Made from durable, high-impact plastic, the Tailbone mounts directly to the tail with three included #8 machine screws. The pre-drilled pilot holes are sized precisely to grip the threads securely, while allowing proper alignment when installed. Once mounted, it creates a subtle buffer between your deck and the ground, reducing razor tail and preserving pop without interfering with foot placement or flick.
Originally developed during the early Bones Brigade era, the Tailbone became a staple for skaters who wanted their boards to last longer during aggressive street sessions. It’s just as at home today cruising rough sidewalks in Pasadena, sliding ledges in El Monte, or pushing through neighborhood streets around Covina and Glendora. Whether you’re riding a reissue setup or bringing old-school function to a modern shape, this piece connects past and present seamlessly.
Powell Peralta’s legacy of innovation is built on solving real skate problems, and the Tailbone is a perfect example—simple, effective, and timeless.
