Hockey Deck Diego Todd Paper Cover (8.38) leans fully into that raw, collage-driven Hockey aesthetic, built around a graphic that feels more like a worn sketchbook than a traditional deck. The top veneer comes in a crumpled paper-style print with a warm brown tone, complete with subtle creases and texture printed into the woodgrain, giving it that “paper cover” feel right out of the gate. Near the center, a small, slightly eerie set of eyes sits above the handwritten “Diego Todd” script, adding a quiet focal point that feels personal and a little unsettling. The HOCKEY logo is faintly pressed into the surface below, almost hidden in the texture, keeping things minimal but intentional.
Flip it over and the bottom graphic opens up into a full collage of scattered drawings, notes, and layered imagery—everything from rough sketches and symbols to small characters and text fragments, all sitting on that same crumpled brown paper backdrop. The central HOCKEY logo hits in bold red with a distressed outline, anchoring the chaos around it. The rest of the board feels like a collection of thoughts, sketches, and ideas—messy in the best way, like something built over time rather than designed all at once. It’s the kind of graphic you keep noticing new details on every time you look at it.
The shape is Hockey’s Shape 1, measuring 8.38” x 31.75” with a 14.18” wheelbase, featuring a steeper concave and that signature shovel-style nose. It gives the board a quick, responsive feel under your feet while still offering enough stability for bigger moves. Whether you’re piecing together lines in Pasadena or navigating rougher ground out in El Monte, the shape holds up across different terrain without feeling limited. Pressed from traditional 7-ply maple, it delivers consistent pop and durability session after session.
Hockey Skateboards, driven by Jason Dill and Anthony Van Engelen, has built its identity around graphics that feel honest, sometimes uncomfortable, and always real. This deck fits squarely into that vision—less about perfection, more about expression.
Diego Todd, coming out of Ventura, California, brings a unique presence to this pro model. Known for his raw, high-impact style and sharp skate IQ, Todd built his approach skating imperfect terrain—cracked spots, DIY fixes, and anything that required creativity to make work. That background shows in everything he does—unpredictable lines, unconventional spots, and a style that feels natural rather than forced. From his standout parts in Hockey projects to his work with Stüssy and Vans, he’s carved out a lane that’s entirely his own, and this deck reflects that same layered, unfiltered energy.
