The Enjoi Grip Cleaner Wonder Rub (Orange) is a practical skateboard maintenance accessory designed to help remove dirt, dust, and everyday buildup from grip tape without the need for water or harsh cleaning chemicals. Whether your board has been collecting dust at the skatepark, picking up debris during street sessions, or simply losing its original grip from regular use, the Wonder Rub offers a straightforward way to clean the surface and help restore the traction you depend on. Compact, reusable, and easy to keep in a skate bag, it's a useful addition to any skateboarder's setup.
The Wonder Rub features a thick, rectangular block of translucent amber-colored cleaning rubber with a slightly textured, naturally uneven surface. Its golden-yellow appearance resembles a dense block of gum rubber, with a firm yet flexible composition designed to lift unwanted particles from the abrasive surface of skateboard grip tape. The block's squared edges provide a comfortable gripping area, while its substantial shape offers plenty of cleaning surface for repeated use.
Wrapped around the center is a vibrant orange paper sleeve featuring Enjoi's signature playful artwork. The packaging takes inspiration from the classic Rosie the Riveter illustration, showing a determined woman with bright blue eyes, red lipstick, a red bandana, and a blue work shirt flexing her arm. A small black-and-white Enjoi panda tattoo appears on her upper arm, adding the brand's unmistakable personality to the design. The front prominently displays "wonder rub griptape cleaner" in large white lowercase lettering, with the familiar Enjoi logo in yellow underneath. The combination of vintage-inspired artwork, bold colors, and humorous details captures the brand's distinctive approach to skateboard accessories.
Using the Wonder Rub is simple. Rub the cleaning block across the dirty sections of your grip tape with moderate pressure, allowing the rubber to pick up loose dirt, dust, and debris trapped between the abrasive particles. For more stubborn buildup, several passes may be necessary. As the block collects dirt, its surface can gradually become discolored, which is normal during use. The cleaner works best on dry grip tape and is intended for routine surface maintenance rather than removing deeply embedded grease or restoring severely worn grip tape.
Keeping your skateboard grip tape clean helps maintain consistent foot contact during ollies, flip tricks, and everyday riding. Dust and dirt can accumulate over time, reducing the abrasive surface's effectiveness and making the board feel less secure beneath your shoes. Regular cleaning can help extend the useful life of your grip tape and reduce the need for premature replacement. The Wonder Rub is especially convenient because it requires no liquid cleaner, soaking, or extended drying time.
Enjoi Skateboards was founded in 2000 by professional skateboarders Marc Johnson and Rodney Mullen, two influential figures who helped shape modern street skateboarding. The company became known for its iconic panda mascot, imaginative graphics, and a team that included riders such as Jerry Hsu, Louie Barletta, Cairo Foster, and Caswell Berry. Built around the idea that skateboarding should remain creative and enjoyable, Enjoi developed a recognizable identity that extended beyond decks into apparel and accessories. The Wonder Rub reflects that same philosophy by turning an ordinary maintenance item into something functional, recognizable, and distinctly Enjoi.
For skateboarders throughout Monrovia, Arcadia, Pasadena, Azusa, Glendora, Claremont, and South Pasadena, dirty grip tape is simply part of putting miles on a skateboard. Between dusty parking lots, neighborhood streets, and local skateparks, maintaining your board is just as important as choosing the right components. The Enjoi Wonder Rub is an easy accessory to keep handy between sessions, helping riders maintain their grip tape without replacing it every time it starts looking worn.
With its reusable rubber cleaning block, compact rectangular design, dry-cleaning application, and distinctive orange Enjoi packaging, the Wonder Rub offers a convenient solution for everyday skateboard grip tape maintenance. It's a simple accessory that serves a practical purpose while staying true to Enjoi's long-standing sense of humor and skateboarding heritage.
