Deathwish Deck Jake Hayes Ascension (8.6) feels like it’s floating somewhere between heaven and chaos, and that tension is exactly what makes it hit so hard. The graphic, created by BOW3RY, pulls you straight into a surreal scene—a glowing, angelic figure suspended mid-air against a soft gradient sky that fades from bright blue into warm pink clouds. Her wings stretch outward, detailed and feathered, while her body hangs effortlessly above a heavy black chain that drags downward into a brutal, red spiked mace. It’s beauty tied directly to weight, freedom chained to impact—the kind of imagery that sticks with you long after you’ve stepped off the board.

Jake Hayes’ name sits clean and simple near the upper graphic, letting the artwork do all the talking. It fits his style—powerful, controlled, and never overdone. Coming out of Sydney, Australia, Hayes built his name on raw pop and serious consistency, even setting a 45.5-inch ollie world record, and earning Australian SOTY in 2016 before turning pro for Deathwish in 2017. His skating carries that same push-and-pull energy as the graphic—technical but heavy, clean but aggressive.

The shape comes in at 8.6” wide and 32” long with a 14.5” wheelbase, giving you that perfect middle ground—enough width to lock into rails and hold speed, but still responsive when you need to snap something quick. The DW mellow concave keeps everything comfortable underfoot without sacrificing board feel, making it easy to stay connected whether you’re skating gaps, ledges, or just pushing through long sessions.

Pressed from 100% Hard Rock Canadian Maple, this deck is built to take real impact, not just look good on the wall. It’s the kind of board that holds up when you’re putting in work—whether that’s lining up something down a stair set or just stacking clips all day.

This one feels right rolling through Pasadena’s smoother stretches, then holding it together when you cut over to rougher patches toward El Monte—where a little extra width and stability actually matters. It’s a board that adapts with you, not against you.
