Thrasher

Thrasher started in 1981 in San Francisco as a skate magazine founded by Kevin Thatcher, Eric Swenson, and Fausto Vitello under High Speed Productions. It wasn’t created to sell clothes—it was built to document skateboarding as it actually was: raw, chaotic, creative, and sometimes ugly. The magazine became the voice of core skate culture, spotlighting the skaters who were pushing boundaries rather than playing it safe. Over time, the logo—especially the Flame—moved from the pages of the magazine onto tees and hoodies, but the identity has always traced back to real skateboarding first.
The San Gabriel Valley respects Thrasher because it represents something earned. It’s not about fashion cycles—it’s about skating hard enough to be in the conversation. From rough street spots in the SGV to long summer park days, Thrasher has always symbolized commitment and credibility. Around here, you don’t wear it for the logo alone—you wear it because you skate.
