Black Label Deck Jason Adams Curb Surfer Shape (9.75) is a full commitment to raw street skating, built exactly how Jason Adams intended it to be ridden—fast, loud, and creative. Pressed on a Custom 9.75” Curb Surfer Shape measuring 9.75” x 32.825” with a 14.5” wheelbase, this deck balances width and maneuverability perfectly. The 7 ply hardwood maple laminate construction keeps it strong and responsive, ready for slappies, wallrides, no-complys, and anything else you throw at it.

The graphic hits with serious energy. A bold black arrow runs nose to tail with “ONE WAY” stamped vertically beneath a flame icon, reinforcing that straight-ahead, no-looking-back mindset. Layered checkerboard textures, paint splatter, and bold color blocking create depth across the background. The circular center graphic features mirrored feet with “Jason Adams” and “Curb Surfer” text wrapping the logo, tying the concept together. “TAIL BLOCK” is printed near the tail, a nod to the curb-heavy identity of the shape. Available in three colorways—Pink, Yellow, and Blue—each deck sits on assorted top and bottom stains, meaning no two boards are exactly alike. The artwork, created by Jason Adams alongside John Lucero, blends punk aesthetics with classic Black Label grit.

Jason Adams, known as “The Kid,” came up during the early 1990s street boom but carved his own lane. Turning pro at 18 for Think Skateboards, he became known not for technical flip trick contests but for raw, improvisational skating—slappy grinds, creative lines, and treating everyday terrain like a canvas. Black Label became one of his most significant homes, where his personality and skating philosophy aligned with Lucero’s independent vision. He’s also been part of Enjoi (notably in Bag of Suck), Santa Cruz, Scarecrow, Creature, and Elephant Brand, with longtime sponsorship from Vans, Thunder Trucks, and OJ Wheels.

Beyond skating, Adams built a respected second chapter as a stencil artist, influenced heavily by punk rock culture. His layered portrait work and exhibitions like “Guns and Arrows” show the same raw expression that defines his skating. In 2024, he dropped “Fifty Years to Life” with Closer Skateboarding, documenting his continued passion at 50 and his sobriety journey—proof that style and creativity don’t age out.

The 9.75” Curb Surfer Shape feels right at home around the San Gabriel Valley, where curbs, banks, and transition spots reward a board that’s wide enough to lock in but quick enough to snap around. Whether you’re cruising lines through tighter parks or building speed into long slappies, this deck carries that “never watered down” energy Black Label has stood on since 1988.

Stix SGV has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley skateboarding community since the late ‘90s. With three locations across Los Angeles County, we’ve been deeply rooted in the local scene. Our Monrovia shop has been a staple since 1997, followed by our Claremont location in 2014, and our South Pasadena shop opening its doors in 2022. Our mission has always been simple: to uphold skateboarding culture and stay true to our community.
