Anti Hero Deck John Cardiel Medieval (8.62) comes through heavy with that unmistakable Anti Hero grit—raw, aggressive, and built for skating at full speed with zero hesitation. The top veneer shows a clean green stain with visible woodgrain running through it, finished with a centered Anti Hero logo burned in near the middle, keeping things simple and classic when you're setting it up. Flip it over and the full personality hits—deep black background layered with a bold medieval-inspired graphic by Mulls Davis, featuring a knight mid-strike holding a sword and shield, framed inside ornate lettering that forms a stylized “C.” Above and below, gothic-style typography spells out “Cardiel” and Anti Hero, tying everything together with that heavy, almost metal-inspired aesthetic.
The 8.62” width paired with a 32.25” length and 14.5” wheelbase gives this board a solid, planted feel underfoot—perfect for skaters who want more control and confidence charging lines or locking into transitions. The Cardi-Hella Tight shape adds a fuller nose and tail, giving you more surface area for catching tricks while still maintaining that responsive snap. Built from traditional 7-ply North American maple, it delivers the kind of durability and pop you expect whether you’re skating fast through parking lots in El Monte or hitting rougher terrain spots around Baldwin Park. The medium concave keeps it versatile—comfortable for cruising, but still reactive when you need it.
Anti Hero, founded by Julien Stranger under Deluxe Distribution, has always stood for no-frills, go-fast skateboarding. It’s a brand rooted in doing things the hard way—skating real spots, real terrain, and not watering anything down. That identity lines up perfectly with John Cardiel’s legacy.
Cardiel is one of those names that carries weight across generations. Coming up in Northern California, he built his reputation on speed and fearlessness—charging hills, rails, and anything in his path without hesitation. Named Thrasher’s Skater of the Year in 1992, he became a defining figure of that era. After a devastating spinal injury in 2003 that doctors said would leave him unable to walk, Cardiel fought back through intense rehabilitation and eventually returned to skating—something that still stands as one of the most powerful comeback stories in skateboarding. That same resilience and intensity is embedded in this deck—it’s not about playing it safe, it’s about going all in.
