The Zero Deck Team Lightning Glow (8.25) brings one of skateboarding's most recognizable logos back with an electrified finish, celebrating 30 years of Zero Skateboards from 1996 to 2026. Part of the brand's special anniversary reissue collection, this team model combines Zero's unmistakable black-and-green aesthetic with a fully dipped glow-in-the-dark finish. Built with traditional seven-ply North American maple construction, a medium-to-mellow concave, and a versatile 8.25-inch width, the Lightning Glow delivers the performance of a modern street deck while paying tribute to three decades of one of skateboarding's most influential companies.

The bottom graphic features Zero's iconic oversized block lettering running vertically from nose to tail, surrounded by an intense network of electric green lightning bolts against a deep black background. The letters are rendered in a distressed, textured black finish, outlined by brilliant neon-green electrical currents that branch across the entire deck. Thick lightning strikes cut diagonally through the oversized ZERO logo, while smaller, intricate bolts fill the surrounding negative space, creating a layered effect resembling an electrical storm. A vivid green glow traces the outer edges of the deck, giving the graphic an almost radioactive appearance. The fully dipped glow-in-the-dark finish adds another dimension to the artwork, allowing the board to stand out even after the lights go down. The design maintains Zero's signature aggressive visual identity without unnecessary graphics or distractions.

Measuring 8.25 inches wide by 31.9 inches long, with a 14.25-inch wheelbase, 7.125-inch nose, and 6.5-inch tail, the Lightning Glow features a traditional popsicle shape designed for technical street skating, ledges, handrails, gaps, and skatepark sessions. Its medium-to-mellow concave provides comfortable foot placement while maintaining the responsiveness needed for flip tricks and precise board control. The 8.25-inch width strikes a practical balance between stability and maneuverability, offering enough surface area for confident landings without feeling oversized. Constructed from seven plies of North American maple with epoxy resin bonding, each deck is individually pressed to deliver consistent concave, reliable strength, and long-lasting pop. A laser-engraved anniversary logo on the top ply commemorates Zero's 30-year milestone.

Founded in 1996 by legendary professional skateboarder Jamie Thomas, better known as "The Chief," Zero Skateboards helped define the direction of modern street skateboarding. Originally established as an apparel company, Zero evolved into a skateboard brand recognized for its uncompromising approach to heavy street skating, influential video productions, and distinctive skull and bold-letter graphics. Thomas built the company around skateboarders who weren't afraid to push themselves beyond conventional limits, creating a team identity centered on determination, progression, and a willingness to take risks.

Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, Zero became a driving force behind some of the most influential skate videos ever released. Thrill of It All (1997), Misled Youth (1999), Dying to Live (2002), and New Blood (2005) introduced generations of skateboarders to increasingly technical handrail tricks, massive gaps, and groundbreaking street footage. Riders including Jamie Thomas, Chris Cole, Jon Allie, Erik Ellington, and John Rattray contributed to the company's reputation, helping establish Zero as a defining brand during an era when full-length skate videos played a central role in skateboarding culture.

Zero's signature bold lettering became nearly as recognizable as the skateboarders representing the company. The classic ZERO logo has appeared across countless decks, apparel collections, and video releases, maintaining a strong visual connection to the brand's early history. The Team Lightning Glow reissue takes that familiar design and adds an electric green treatment that feels consistent with Zero's longstanding graphics while introducing a distinctive glow-in-the-dark finish. As part of the company's 30th anniversary collection, it represents both the longevity of the brand and the influence its team, artwork, and videos continue to have on skateboarding.

For skateboarders throughout the San Gabriel Valley, Zero has been a familiar name on shop walls and at local skate spots for decades. From the street terrain around Pasadena and Alhambra to the skateparks and ledges throughout Arcadia, Monrovia, Glendora, and the surrounding communities, the 8.25-inch Lightning Glow offers a versatile setup for skaters who appreciate traditional shapes and an unmistakable graphic. At STIX SGV, Zero's history is particularly meaningful because the company's early years closely parallel our own beginnings in 1997. The decks, videos, and riders that built Zero's reputation were part of the same era that helped shape our local skateboarding community.
