Nike SB Shoe Dunk Low (Som Tum) brings a fresh, culture-driven twist to one of skateboarding’s most trusted silhouettes, blending Nike SB’s performance DNA with rich inspiration pulled straight from Thai cuisine. Right away, the upper stands out with a textured woven finish that nods to traditional sticky rice baskets, giving the shoe a layered, almost hand-crafted feel. The mix of canvas, vachetta tan, and parachute beige tones keeps the palette grounded, while bold hits of bright red-orange laces cut through for contrast that feels alive without being loud.

Looking closer, the paneling keeps that classic Dunk Low structure—clean overlays, a durable toe box, and a supportive midfoot—all built to break in naturally and develop character over time. The Nike Swoosh sits in a soft, neutral tone that blends into the upper, letting the textures and stitching do the talking. Subtle red stitching lines trace the panels and midsole, adding just enough detail to tie the whole design together.

From above, the insole graphic tells the deeper story. A Som Tum-inspired print—featuring a lotus-style graphic and green accents—sits underfoot, referencing the bold flavors and visual layering of the dish. Even the details go further—the heel tabs feature Nike written in Thai, giving the pair an authentic cultural touch that doesn’t feel forced.

Underneath, the classic Dunk outsole holds it down with a durable rubber build and that signature pivot circle for grip, whether you’re skating ledges in El Monte or cruising through South Pas. A green midfoot hit on the outsole adds a subtle pop you don’t see until you flip the shoe, keeping things interesting from every angle. The foam midsole delivers lightweight cushioning, while the padded collar and tongue lock your foot in for everyday wear and skate sessions alike.

This is Nike SB Dunk Low Pro at its best—taking a familiar shape and pushing it forward through storytelling, materials, and detail. Backed by Nike, founded in 1964 by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman, and refined through decades of innovation, the SB line continues to bridge skateboarding with global influence in a way that feels real.
