Hockey Deck John Fitzgerald It Never Ends (8.5) delivers that raw, stripped-down Hockey aesthetic with a graphic that hits both minimal and heavy at the same time. The top veneer comes in a bold pink stain, letting the natural woodgrain bleed through while keeping things clean with a small, centered Hockey logo box—simple, direct, and unmistakable. Flip it over and the energy shifts completely. The bottom graphic sits on a warm orange-stained veneer with a soft fade into lighter tones at the nose and tail, framing a gritty, pixelated image of a figure with arms raised. Above it, the bold HOCKEY typeface stands sharp and dominant, while the phrase “It Never Ends” sits just below the image, tying the whole piece together with that signature Hockey tone—bleak, honest, and a little unsettling.
The shape is Hockey’s Shape 1, measuring 8.5” x 31.91” with a 14.25” wheelbase, built with a steeper concave and a shovel-style nose that gives it a distinct feel underfoot. That added steepness creates a more responsive flick and control, especially noticeable when you’re skating quick lines or hitting ledges around SGV spots like Pasadena or West Covina. The wider platform gives you stability without feeling sluggish, making it versatile enough for everything from technical street to faster, more aggressive skating.
Hockey Skateboards, led by Jason Dill and Anthony Van Engelen under the FA/Hockey umbrella, has carved out its own lane in skateboarding—unfiltered, graphic-driven, and rooted in real skating. Their boards carry a tone that feels more like a statement than just a product, and this one fits right into that mindset.
John Fitzgerald, out of Glendora, California—right here in the SGV—brings serious weight behind this pro model. Known for his powerful, all-terrain style, Fitzgerald first broke through by winning Slap Magazine’s “One in a Million” contest in 2010, putting him on the map as someone who could handle anything from massive rails to rough terrain. His time with Alien Workshop and later as a core rider for Hockey cemented his place as one of the more unique skaters out there—tall, fast, and unpredictable in the best way. Beyond skating, his story carries real depth, having pushed through multiple ACL injuries and personal struggles to come back stronger, making this board feel like more than just a graphic—it reflects resilience and persistence.
