Nike SB Shoe Air Max 95 (Koston)

Eric Koston’s take on the Air Max 95 blends ‘90s hoops-and-running DNA with modern Nike SB function. The layered Obsidian/Midnight Navy panels mimic the 95’s “muscle” ribs, with hairy and smooth leathers wrapping breathable mesh. Speed Yellow pops at the eyestays, tongue badge, Swoosh embroidery, and visible Max Air bags, while a deep-navy cupsole and gum-rubber traction keep it skate-ready. Anatomical lines flow from toe to heel, reflective of the original’s spine-to-ribs concept, and the herringbone outsole grips when you’re threading lines at Monrovia or dodging weekend crowds around Claremont Village.

Underfoot, plush Max Air cushioning softens big drops without killing boardfeel, and the flexible cupsole is tuned to break in fast. Hidden “Ishod/Wair”-style nods become KOSTON labels here—embroidered tongue tags, insole art, and subtle script at the forefoot add that pro-model stamp. Durable leather overlays, tough mesh quarters, and a padded collar round out a shoe that can session the South Pas curbs all afternoon and still look good for a late burrito run.

Koston background: Street technician, contest killer, and style reference point since the mid-’90s, Eric helped define the modern pro—mixing video-part precision with technical innovation across éS, Lakai, and later Nike SB, where he steered multiple signatures. As for the much-talked-about online back-and-forth with Stevie Williams: it’s part of skateboarding’s long tradition of competitive banter between icons—spirited, opinionated, and ultimately rooted in mutual respect and love for the game.
