The Smile Talk Deck Multi Logo (8.125) brings unapologetically happy energy to your setup—bold yellow smile-bursts pop against a multi-color veneer for a graphic that’s impossible to miss on the park deck or a night cruise down Foothill. Built on a classic popsicle shape with 7-ply hard rock maple, it delivers a lively snap, dependable strength, and a medium concave that locks in for flip tricks without feeling twitchy. At 8.125 wide, it’s a sweet middle ground for stable ledge lines, bowls, and rough L.A. sidewalk missions. Standard new-school bolt pattern; wheelbase falls in the usual 8.125 range for a predictable feel.
Smile Talk is a skater-run, art-first project—graphics are playful by design, encouraging that “one more try” optimism we see all over the SGV. The repeating logo is a wink to zine-era board art: simple, loud, and meant to get scratched up.
A big reason we back Smile Talk is Max Flores. Max heads our Stix Skate Academy, coaching groms and grownups with a calm style and a deep bag of fundamentals. His program centers on building board control, safe progression, and proper park etiquette—think structured warm-ups, trick breakdowns, and goal setting that actually sticks. Off the board he’s constantly filming, helping local kids edit their first clips, and organizing small meet-ups from Monrovia side streets to the Claremont park. Max’s approach blends patience with creativity; if a student is stuck, he’ll reframe the spot, tweak foot placement, or switch stance to unlock the trick. Around here, that mentorship has turned nervous first-timers into confident, community-minded skaters—exactly the spirit Smile Talk puts on wood.
Stix SGV has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley skateboarding community since the late ‘90s. With three locations across Los Angeles County, we’ve been deeply rooted in the local scene. Our Monrovia shop has been a staple since 1997, followed by our Claremont location in 2014, and our South Pasadena shop opening its doors in 2022. Our mission has always been simple: to uphold skateboarding culture and stay true to our community.
