Krooked Deck Van Wastell Redux True Fit (8.25)

The Van Wastell Redux True Fit shows up crisp and striking on a clean white bottom ply: a chrome-outlined skull with glowing eyes sits at the center of a stacked totem of arrows and blocks, flanked by jagged lightning bolts. “Van Wastell” crowns the top in punk-tag lettering, Krooked hits heavy above the truck holes, and a small “Skateboards” flourish rides the tail. Top stains will vary, but the vibe stays classic DLXSF—graphic that pops from a distance and reads well up close on curbs, banks, and the tight lines you’ll find from Old Town Pasadena to those quiet Claremont cut-throughs.

Skates exactly how a True Fit should: 8.25" x 31.5" with a 13.88" wheelbase, medium concave, and traditional 7-ply North American maple for snap and staying power. Typical measurements on this size sit around ~7.0" nose and ~6.5–6.75" tail, giving quick leverage without feeling twitchy. The “True Fit” mold trims length and wheelbase slightly for a more centered stance and faster response. 

A quick nod to the lineage: Krooked was founded by Mark Gonzales in 2002 under Deluxe Distribution (DLXSF), with Gonz’s hand-drawn art and oddball humor defining the brand’s decks, ads, and videos. The Redux graphic honors Van Wastell—a powerful California street skater discovered and backed by the Gonz—who tragically passed away while on tour in Germany in 2008; this reissue keeps his energy rolling.
