The Krooked Deck Ronnie Sandoval Peace Sign (9.81) stands out the second you pull it from the rack. The bottom graphic sits on a metallic, sparkly blue veneer with a bold, hand-drawn collage: a crowned head in hot pink, a peace-sign hand, leafy green stems, and purple flowers, all framed by the classic Krooked script and Sandoval’s name. Flip it over and you’ll find a rich purple stained top ply with a white, handwritten mantra—“LEARN NEW TRICKS… DON’T GET HURT”—plus the little Krooked eyes stamped underneath. The shape is functional and fun: a surfy, squared tail, blunted shovel nose, and a roomy 9.81-inch width that feels right at home pumping Claremont’s streets or cruising mellow laps at South Pas in the evening. Seven-ply hard rock maple keeps it lively and durable, and the directional outline gives extra control for pool coping and DIY transitions around our valley.

Krooked is the art-driven brand helmed by Mark Gonzales, launched under DLX in the early 2000s. The Gonz’s playful linework and constant experimentation birthed shapes and graphics that invite you to skate however you want—this deck channels that spirit perfectly, especially for sessioning the San Gabriel River paths or rolling into Claremont’s deep end after work.

Ronnie Sandoval is true Southern California concrete—raised in San Pedro and forged at the Channel Street DIY. He’s known for powerful lines, lock-in grinds, and effortless speed in bowls and parks. This pro model mirrors that approach: plenty of platform for stability, quick response in the pocket, and a graphic that feels equal parts punk flyer and zine art—exactly the kind of board you’ll want underfoot when you’re flowing laps from Monrovia to El Sereno.
