Krooked Deck Brad Cromer Mad King (8.06)
Brad Cromer’s latest pro model brings Krooked’s playful weirdness to a clean, skate-everyday shape. The bottom veneer fades from deep wine to black and centers a crowned “Mad King” character—gold crown, blank royal stare, and a glowing-heart chest—stacked above the classic Krooked script with “Cromer” tucked in. Flip it over and the top shows a black woodgrain with Krooked’s handwritten mantra: “Learn new tricks… do ’em faster… more powerful… more finessful… don’t get hurt.” It’s reminder and rally cry in one. The full popsicle outline, sturdy 7-ply maple, and squared tail/nose cuts are built for daily abuse from ledges at local schools to crusty LA ditch spots.
Cromer’s boards always skate as good as they look, and the Mad King is no exception. Sized at 8.06" with a tidy 31.8" length and a responsive 14.38" wheelbase, it balances stability for higher speeds with quick flick and fast snaps—ideal for pushing lines through Pasadena alleys or popping over cracks on Huntington Drive. Whether you’re bombing to the park or stacking clips downtown, this one’s tuned for real street miles.
Krooked is Mark Gonzales’ brainchild—born in 2002 to keep skating fun, art-forward, and inclusive. The brand’s mix of hand-scrawled graphics, oddball humor, and timeless shapes comes straight from the Gonz playbook, and it’s why Krooked decks have become lifers under the feet of street skaters worldwide. As for Brad Cromer, the Florida-born technician turned Krooked pro has quietly built one of the cleanest styles in modern street skating—think power, precision, and lines that feel like they were drawn with a ruler. Thrasher’s Out There piece digs into that meticulous approach and the honesty that fuels his skating. It’s the same ethos you’ll feel underfoot here.
