Black Label Deck Omar Hassan Operation (8.38)
Bright and brutal in the best way, the Omar Hassan Operation deck drops a full-yellow bottom ply riffing on the classic board game: a worried cartoon patient in red polka-dot boxers stands center with callouts for every slam—split open stitches, broken ribs, shin gash, smashed ankle, even a “broken heart.” Up at the nose the Black Label flame blazes, and small icons (flashlight forehead, skate tool, spare screw) orbit the chaos. “OMAR HASSAN” and “OPERATION” stack at the tail above the truck holes. Flip it over for a deep green top stain stamped with the Black Label seal—each veneer assorted, so no two are exactly alike.
Skates like a true all-terrain street/park board: 8.38" x 32.5" with a 14.38" wheelbase, 7-ply hardwood maple laminate, and Standard Cut shape for a balanced platform—stable on speed lines yet quick to flick. That belly of width feels great charging long SGV sidewalk pushes, shouldering into the tight hips at local parks, or taking a fast 50-50 on the Claremont blocks.
Founded by John Lucero in 1988, Black Label built its name on DIY grit—punk graphics, honest wood, and road-tested shapes for skaters who actually skate. Omar Hassan embodies that lineage: an Orange County powerhouse with decades of heavy pool, park, and street clips, known for charging lines, going big, and bouncing back from more “operations” than most of us could count—exactly why this graphic lands so perfectly.
Stix SGV has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley skateboarding community since the late ‘90s. With three locations across Los Angeles County, we’ve been deeply rooted in the local scene. Our Monrovia shop has been a staple since 1997, followed by our Claremont location in 2014, and our South Pasadena shop opening its doors in 2022. Our mission has always been simple: to uphold skateboarding culture and stay true to our community.
