Black Label Deck Jake Reuter Rat Kill (8.5)

Jake Reuter’s Rat Kill comes at you with gritty, zine-style artwork the brand is known for—hand-drawn vermin, hazard cues, and tally-marks arranged like a street poster, capped with the Black Label flame. The graphic sits tall on the bottom ply so it reads from across a park deck; flip it and you’ll find assorted top stains, each board a little different once you grip it. It’s a board that looks at home blasting down SGV sidewalks or locking into long 50-50s on those Claremont ledges.

Sized for real-world skating: 8.5" x 32.38" with a 14.5" wheelbase in a Standard Cut popsicle—enough platform for speed and stability, still quick on flicks and snaps. Pressed in 7-ply hardwood maple laminate for a crisp flex and lasting pop. The shape feels confident on fast lines at Monrovia park and balanced for gap-to-grinds or wallride hits around South Pas.

Black Label—founded by John Lucero in 1988—built its reputation on DIY grit, raw graphics, and wood made to be skated, not babied. Jake Reuter channels that energy with powerful street clips, rail control, and a workhorse approach to spots; the rat-pack theme fits his no-frills, get-it-done skating.

Stix SGV has proudly served the San Gabriel Valley skateboarding community since the late ‘90s. With three locations across Los Angeles County, we’ve been deeply rooted in the local scene. Our Monrovia shop has been a staple since 1997, followed by our Claremont location in 2014, and our South Pasadena shop opening its doors in 2022. Our mission has always been simple: to uphold skateboarding culture and stay true to our community.
