The Black Label Elijah Akerley “Caterpillar” Deck (9.0) is a psych-blasted custom shaped ripper with a serious nod to Black Label’s punk-art heritage. Sized at 9.0" x 32.25" with a 14.38" wheelbase, this Spider Egg shape brings a widened platform for power skating, sharp lines, and enough control to charge pool coping or crush ledges with style.
The graphic is pure Lucero chaos—a brightly mutated caterpillar clinging to a stalk with a blooming daisy head that explodes into the Black Label flame logo. It’s as gnarly and surreal as it sounds, rendered in saturated neons on a deep purple stained bottom veneer. Original artwork by John Lucero, the legend behind the label, ties it all back to the brand’s rebellious DNA. Lucero, a pioneer of both street skating and skater-owned brands, started Black Label in 1988 to keep skating raw, rider-driven, and free from the plastic polish of corporate interference.
Elijah Akerley brings fresh blood to the Black Label lineup. Known for mixing technical finesse with rugged street style, Akerley represents the new guard—someone who grew up watching DIY edits and skating crust, not contests. His first graphic being drawn by Lucero isn’t just a nod, it’s a rite of passage, merging generations of skate punk ethos into one deck.
Built with 7-ply hardwood maple laminate, it’s got the tried-and-true strength and pop Black Label is known for. The custom Spider Egg shape offers a slightly tapered tail, broader front foot real estate, and rounded contours that feel just right under your feet. Assorted top and bottom stains mean every one of these beasts is a little different.
